Pre-Summit Workshops

​If a session fills, any unclaimed seats will be available first-come, first-serve on the day of the workshop. 


RacePlanner: Site and Coach Recruitment Applications

In this session, the RacePlanner team will teach attendees how to: correctly set up and manage Site and Coach Recruitment Applications, attach sites and coaches to teams in the upcoming season’s program, allow coaches and site liaisons access through the volunteer portal and most effectively use the Attendance App and its corresponding reports. Attendees will leave this session prepared to fully utilize the site and coach recruitment application functionality to streamline these aspects of GOTR programming.

Fundraising: Ask, Thank, Report, Repeat - How to Build an Annual Fundraising Plan that Works!

​Led by industry expert Steven Screen, this session will provide a deep dive into the ATRR Cycle and  strategies to elevate individual giving programs. By the end of the session, attendees will understand how to build and execute an individual giving plan that is measurable, repeatable and successful. Come to this session to learn more about the four key components  of the ATRR Cycle: “Ask” – when and how, “Thank” – expressing gratitude and making donors feel great, “Report” –building donor confidence in their investment in Girls on the Run and priming them to give again, and “Repeat” –the rhythm year after year.

RacePlanner: 5K Registration and Volunteer Management

In this session, the RacePlanner team will teach attendees how to set up and manage both a 5K event and a 5K Volunteer Registration form in RacePlanner. In addition, the team will share 5K best practices, drawing from their own race management experience in the areas of marketing, sponsorships, volunteers, participants, race day logistics, and safety (including lessons from the team about how their annual Thanksgiving race was managed, just two weeks after the infamous Camp Fire started).

Fundraising: Storytelling for Action
2:00 - 4:00 PM

This session will emphasize the important role of storytelling in generating funds for your council. Attendees will learn what types of stories to share, when to share them and who to share them with. We'll compare successful examples to unsuccessful examples, from the same organization and donors, with performance data to drive home the impact of intentional storytelling. Additionally, attendees will receive a checklist of tips to use when reviewing your fundraising materials to ensure the most effective use of your Girls on the Run stories.

RacePlanner: Solving Data Problems in RacePlanner

Learn how to solve all types of data issues, from small irritations to catastrophic errors that create strife for you and your customers. The RacePlanner team will cover the most common data problems GOTR councils experience and show you how to resolve and avoid them. You will leave this session with quality assurance checklists that cover what to do before, during and after your events, campaigns and fundraisers resulting in good data quality and a smooth process for everyone involved.
