Kayaking on the Mississippi River with GOTR Minnesota Sunday, June 26, 9:00 - 11:00 AM
Looking for an outdoor adventure before heading into the official Summit kick-off? Join staff from GOTR Minnesota for an exciting morning kayaking on the Mississippi River! Capacity will be limited to 30 participants, with a cost of $30 per person (includes kayak rental and life jacket).
STC Group Gathering Sunday, June 26, 4:00 - 5:00 PM
Strength Through Connectedness (STC) groups were created in 2021 to support the experiences of our BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ employees. Existing and potential STC members will gather Sunday prior to the Welcome Reception to connect with both new and familiar faces. This cohort opportunity will allow for easier connection and networking prior to the start of Summit. LUNAFEST: Summit Film Screening and Cocktail Reception Sponsored by LUNA Sunday, June 26, 6:15 - 7:00 PM
Join us as we kick off the first official evening of Summit with a special screening of LUNAFEST: FILMS BY AND ABOUT WOMEN.
This event is free of charge. Heavy appetizers and wine/beer will be served, along with a sample screening of LUNAFEST films.

Morning Physical Activities Monday, June 27 and Tuesday, June 28, 7:00 - 8:00 AM
Whether you enjoy running, yoga or time in your room doing on-demand workouts, we’ve got you covered. Time is set aside each morning for attendees to enjoy their choice of movement. Below are the options currently available.
Yoga: For our yoga-minded attendees, we will provide a yoga session each day. These sessions will offer a beneficial and enjoyable experience creating space for both the physical and spiritual practice. A great antidote to busy days!
Running: Minneapolis has a combination of urban and natural environments to explore. Enjoy a run or walk around Minneapolis to see the sites either with a group run or by yourself. This link recommends the top 5 running destinations in the area. More information on group runs to come!
Tuesday Morning Group Run: Meet Olympic Runner Carrie Tollefson!
We hope you'll join us on Tuesday, June 28 at 7:00 AM for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run with an Olympian! Our very special guest, Carrie Tollefson, will join us on our group run!
Carrie is an elite middle distance runner from St. Paul, Minnesota. She was born and raised in Dawson, Minnesota where she was a 13-time State Champion: eight in track and five in cross country. She attended Villanova University, where she was a 5-time NCAA Champion and the 1998 NCAA Indoor Track Athlete of the year. In her post collegiate career, she was a three time national champion and after winning the 1500m trials in 2004, she represented the US in the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.
Carrie has also been a GOTR coach with her local council, GOTR Minnesota! We are so excited that she will be joining us for this fun, social run. We hope you'll join us too!
Council Board and HQ Board Meet & Greet Monday, June 27, 7:30 - 8:30 AM
New this year! Prior to the State of the Union keynote by CEO Elizabeth Kunz, the HQ Board will host a meet & greet for Council Board attendees. Designed to deepen connection, this is a great way to meet and get to know volunteer leaders from across the organization who all share a passion of advancing the Girls on the Run mission. Coffee and light breakfast snacks will be available.
Your Inner Landscape: Mindfulness Session with Mandy Murphy Monday, June 27, 4:45 - 5:30 PM
Join us for an experiential mindfulness session where you will have time to take some deep breaths, find some ground and open your heart. During this session, we will explore a few different techniques for tuning into your inner landscape while also having some time for a casual discussion about establishing mindfulness practices in your everyday life.
Mandy Murphy is a previous Girls on the Run Founding Executive Director and GOTRI staff member. She now works with individuals and groups on grief support, mindfulness and resiliency training. More information can be found www.mandymurphyco.com.
Lawn Bowling at Brit's Pub with GOTR Minnesota Monday, June 27, 5:00 - 7:00 PM
Unwind after a day filled with networking and breakout sessions at Brit's Pub for this fun social event with staff from GOTR Minnesota! Join for a game of lawn bowling (limited to 32 people), or just come along for the socializing and happy hour on the patio!
Council to Council Connections Networking Session Tuesday, June 28, 3:00 - 4:00 PM
Tuesday’s final session gives you an opportunity to broaden your network and connect with both familiar and new faces, with snacks! Attendees will gather in one of four rooms based on their role at the council: council directors; program and operations staff; fundraising and marketing staff and board members. These sessions will allow you to link with those who share similar responsibilities, challenges and tasks to discuss ideas, insights and wins. After over two years of seeing each other on Zoom calls, it’s going to be fantastic to see each other in person!
Tuesday Night Dance Party: Orchestra Hall Tuesday, June 28, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
The final social event of Summit 2022 will take place on Tuesday night at Orchestra Hall in downtown Minneapolis. Featuring a fun atmosphere, heavy apps, giveaways and more, you won't want to miss this celebration of Summit 2022!
